Here at Blue Skies Bakery™
we
LOVE feeding people and
we
LOVE being able to give back

We believe in nurturing our community and the wider world, and in that vein we throw our support to local organizations that are nurturing local human communities & wild places.

And now in 2024, we are delighted to announce our Monthly Giving Program!

Each month, we will be sharing 1% of Blue Skies Bakery™ sales with a non-profit organization that is doing work that inspires us. We will be featuring their work on here and on our social media, so be sure to follow us to stay up to date!

November 2024:

This November, we are supporting the protection of watershed health and biodiversity in Klickitat and Skamania counties and the Mt. Adams region by partnering with friends of the white salmon river.

Since 1976, Friends of the White Salmon River have gone to great lengths to “[speak] up for streams, forests, and wildlife [and to support] the Yakama Nation in their protection of cultural and natural resources”. Thanks to the Friends, in 1976, “the construction of 7 dams near Trout Lake” was prevented, “in 1986, the 7.7 river miles between Buck Creek (by Northwestern Lake) and Gilmer Creek (by BZ) were added to the Wild and Scenic River program”, and “in 2005, the Upper White Salmon River was designated a Wild and Scenic River”. It is also thanks to the Friends’ work in the 1990’s that the decision to remove Condit Dam was made.

Please visit them at friendsofthewhitesalmon.org to learn more about their work!
